Who doesn’t love hot chocolate? This drink is everything you love about hot chocolate, but upgraded with a delicious spiced flavor and incredible added health benefits!
I’ve always been a fan of hot chocolate and the past year I’ve become addicted to turmeric lattes, so this drink is the perfect combination. The turmeric and cinnamon add such delicious warmth to the rich cacao, while the subtle sweetness from honey and the creaminess of coconut oil make it taste incredibly indulgent.
I love drinking this after dinner and often have it while I’m studying. The cacao keeps me alert without the jitters and anxiety I get from caffeine. It’s also the most comforting way to start your day, so whether it’s before breakfast or after dinner, this drink is 100% delicious.

Raw cacao is filled with antioxidants and coconut oil is a great source of healthy fats. I get asked a lot if coconut oil is healthy because it’s so high in saturated fat, but its actually incredibly nourishing. Coconut oil is filled with medium chain fatty acids which unlike some fats, digest extremely quickly and are converted to energy.

- 1 cup of nut milk (I like almond or cashew)
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2-3 tsp cacao powder (depending how rich of a chocolate flavor you want)
- 1 tsp raw honey
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. When the milk barely begins to simmer, whisk everything together and add a pinch of salt and a few cracks of black pepper. Drink immediately or transfer to a blender to make it extra frothy!
Try using nut milk without additives or fillers if possible. It tastes so much better and gets super frothy!
